One of my all-time favorite indie games. Now that my blog’s taking on a video game theme, I thought I’d reupload this. There have been multiple moments in my life where I yearned for being on a team of game developers; one of the earliest moments was watching Naughty Dog employees ride around on scooters in a documentary about the Uncharted series. One of the most recent of these moments came from a fantastic Vice documentary on the development of Hyper Light Drifter and what it means to be part of a project funded by Kickstarter. From the castles of Westeros to the imaginative, colorful designs of Studio Ghibli, they compiled some of the most iconic and interesting architectural feats that they feel best represent six of their favorite fictional universes. In order to capture the finer details and the feel of each building, they’ve illustrated each one with a pen and paper – and they are pretty happy with the results!
